Mardi Gras
Mardi Gras, French for “Fat Tuesday,” is an exciting, treasured celebration for all, brought to life with music, costumes, art, parades, and more!
Many visitors journey afar to experience the fun and indulge in the revelry of the Mardi Gras season with locals. From costume balls to parades and, did we mention tasty King Cakes, all your senses will be triggered with merriment and camaraderie.
With elaborately decorated floats manned by carnival krewes, parade-goers are eagerly immersed in each float's vibrant décor and musical delight. A familiar phrase, “Throw Me Something Mister,” can be heard from the crowds as they await the thrill of catching beads, doubloons, and other treasures.
So, join Coastal Mississippi this Mardi Gras as we celebrate the Carnival season. And, as we say here, Laissez les bon temps rouler! –– "Let the good times roll!"
Did You Know?
The Gulf Coast Carnival Association (GCCA) was the first Krewe to begin celebrating on the Coast in 1908. After 117 years of festivities, the fun has only grown as they boast of 24 association floats, along with additional private entry floats.
