This charming town is a car ride distance from some of the southeastern United States' most vibrant cities. Here’s the ultimate three-day itinerary in Coastal Mississippi:

Day One

Start your day in Biloxi at Le Cafe’ Beignet for a New Orleans-inspired breakfast. Add their world-class biscuits and gravy, shrimp and grits, or southern seafood toast to your beignet order and prepare for a delightful meal.

After breakfast, visit the Biloxi Visitors Center to learn more about the city. Enjoy beach views and access to the Biloxi Lighthouse, erected in 1848. This historical landmark was one of the first cast-iron lighthouses in the South. See more of the city by hitching a ride on the Biloxi Tour Train for an informative and entertaining 90-minute tour.

Stop by the popular lunch spot, Burger Burger, and order the fried oyster po’boy with remoulade sauce. An espresso from Jacked Up Coffee Bar will fuel your afternoon. Then, head to the Ohr-O’Keefe Museum of Art, dedicated to the works of “The Mad Potter of Biloxi.” Ohr was a genius potter whose highly sought works transcended their utilitarian origins. The museum offers classes, exhibits, and various events.

Biloxi West Beach Boardwalk

If you want to spend a day outside, Biloxi Beach is perfect for swimming, sunbathing, and strolling along the shoreline. There are access locations with parking along Beach Boulevard. Many locals prefer the stretch across from the Mississippi Coast Coliseum & Convention Center.

Continue your Gulfside excursion with dinner at Shaggy’s in Biloxi Beach, a lively waterfront restaurant with fresh seafood. Keep the fun going all night at Hard Rock Live Biloxi, offering a full slate of shows in their 1,500-seat auditorium. Their famed rock and roll memorabilia is legendary. Or check out the notable Biloxi casinos to try your luck at the slot machines and table games.

Day Two

Make the short drive to Ocean Springs in the morning and grab brunch at Blue Dog Bistro, offering keto, paleo, vegan, and gluten-free options. Order the praline pecan bacon, smoked peach and burrata flatbread, or cinnamon roll skillet to share.

Walter Anderson Museum of Art

Shearwater Pottery is a can’t-miss destination in Ocean Springs for craft lovers. Stop by Mary C. O’Keefe Cultural Arts Center, a beloved institution that hosts art exhibits and workshops.

If you’re in Coastal Mississippi between mid-March and October, drive to Gulfport in the morning for a day on the water. Ship Island is one of the most popular Gulf Coast attractions. The hour-long ferry to the barrier island departs from Gulfport Harbor. Pack a picnic lunch, enjoy beach and water activities, and visit historic Fort Massachusetts. Umbrella and chair rentals are available.

Head to your hotel to rest before grabbing dinner in Biloxi, Gulfport, or Ocean Springs. If you stay in Biloxi, take the opportunity to enjoy one of Mississippi’s most famous cultural exports, the rhythm, and blues, at Ground Zero Blues Club. They offer a musical slate of local and touring acts and a full bar, kitchen, and super-friendly staff.  You’ll find plenty of bars, pubs, and breweries in any of these coastal communities to keep you entertained.
