MGM PARK

HURRICANE KATRINA MEMORIAL
The Hurricane Katrina Memorial commemorates the devastating hurricane that struck the Gulf Coast region in 2005. The memorial pays tribute to the more than 1,800 people who lost their lives as a result of the storm. The memorial’s design is inspired by the curving forms of hurricanes.
The memorial consists of a long wall made of black granite that curves along the coastline. Engraved on the wall are the names of all of those who died as a result of Hurricane Katrina.
